Traumatisée par cet abandon, la chienne, baptisée Graycie, a apparemment décidé de mourir. Elle refusait d'avaler quoi que ce soit.
Graycie eating todaythis is Graycie eating today. She's eating, not vomiting, pooped late Monday night. She had hookworms and whipworms in her stool. UGA dewormed her, I am doing it again, just to be safe. Her urinary catheter is still in, along with her pursestring suture holding her prolapse in place. Her gums are still pale and I plan to check her pcv (hematocrit) tomorrow or Friday. She weighs 21.5 lbs. now,was around 20 lbs. on Friday. Probably should weigh 30? maybe 35? she's quite small. I noticed today that she is a little quicker to get up if you approach her cage, if she is lying down, and back up to a corner. I think she is doing this as she feels better or stronger. She is a tad fearful in this video, doesn't want to look at me, this was the first time that she has had her e-collar off, or sitting on the scale/lift table. 2 clients came in between the first and second part of the video, they petted and were talking to her, so that might have made a tad nervous as well, but socialization is a good thing. so it fine. that's Ginger the Guard Dog you hear barking and carrying on when the door bell goes off. She sounds ferocious till she realizes that you might have treats… Graycie's bill at UGA is still about $100 short, so if you find some change under the couch cushions, she would appreciate it. Andy Mathis comprenait que Graycie ne faisait plus confiance aux humains.
Il a eu l'idée de prendre son petit-déjeuner dans la cage où se trouvait la petite chienne, convaincu que la bonté, la sollicitude et l'amour étaient parfois de bien meilleurs remèdes que les médicaments.

Puis elle a commencé peu à peu à s'alimenter, mais seulement en présence du vétérinaire. Impressionnés par cette amitié, les collègues d'Andy Mathis ont filmé la scène. Le docteur ne s’y est pas opposé.
Il espère que quelqu'un adoptera Graycie, qui devient de plus en plus belle et qui reprend peu à peu confiance. Mais il continue de prendre son petit-déjeuner dans la cage de Graycie.
